It’s smaller than I’d thought, and the cup markings not hugely distinctive so it’s an anti-climax really – but at the same time, it’s still remarkable: more than five thousand years ago, perhaps closer to seven or eight, someone worked those divots into the stone. We wonder what else is nearby, what is buried just metres from where we stand.
