lojoco

lojoco is the company I run with John (Louisa and John's Company). We consider it to be the parent company of all our business projects - our websites and our various bits of consultancy work.

  • Fametastic
Our flagship website is celebrity gossip portal Fametastic. Updated daily, throughout the day, Fametastic is a leading celebrity gossip blog in the UK. It covers news from both sides of the Atlantic and beyond, and is regularly linked from high profile news sources including the Washington Post (United States), AOL's TMZ (United States), USA Today (United States), Perez Hilton (United States), Huffington Post (United States), BBC America (United States), Daily Rotten (United States), ABC (Australia) and The Age (Australia).
  • Recycle This and Compost This
We run another blog-based site (How Can I) Recycle This?. Recycle This aims to help people reuse and recycle random household objects in useful and creative ways. It's had regular press coverage in The Times' Eco Worrier column (so much so, Anna used to make fun of herself for linking to us so often) and has also been mentioned in other national newspapers including The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. Internationally, we're (unsurprisingly) popular on the green website circuit and increasingly in DIY craft community. I'm currently putting together a compellation book based on the site, which will hopefully be published next year.
  • In the summer of 2006, Recycle This spawned sister site Compost This, which provides advice on material that can - and can't - be composted. We hope to add another site to the *This green stable later this year (but have, admittedly, been saying that for a while now).
  • Other lojoco projects
lojoco also handles the merchandise (currently just tshirts and stickers) for the geeky webcomic Everybody Loves Eric Raymond (see below).

We are also currently developing a number of other sites and side projects but so many ideas, so little time (especially since John also now runs the wonderful Rails-hosting ISP Brightbox).
