From the first day in our new house.
- and carbon engage in today’s round of the daily tussle: battle over the dregs of cereal milk. #
- is being told to ‘please make the rain stop’ by a whiny cat. #
- learns why you shouldn’t remove nail varnish in the semi-dark: i’ve left loads on every nail & because it’s lime green, i look most ill. #
- gets nervous when @johnleach laughs like that. #
- loves having normal people as friends – people who can ask if a “data centre” is a real place or “a mythical geek location” :) #
- is feeling unsatisfied at the moment, not really dissatisfied with anything but unsatisfied in general. it’s been another tough year, sigh. #
- loves: crunchy toast; cats snoring in uncomfortable positions; and, mysterious tummy rumbles when we can’t work out who is the gurgler. #
- @strowger78 i think our little girl is the loudest. she does proper barry white meows when she goes in the car too, the boys just whine. :) in reply to strowger78 #
- put food out for the stray cat but after he’d finished, the wind blew over the dish and now the magpies are having a party in the crumbs. #
- @strowger78 carla & carbs had to go through a 2 hour journey at rush hour, in a heatwave to get to leeds when we moved. not fun for anyone. #
- makes a Madonna/pop culture reference. Suspects @johnleach did’t get it. #
- gets overly excited about a pack of labels. #
- just had a fucking amazing experience with legal & general’s call centre people. absolutely superb. (not being sarcastic for once either.) #
- is going to: eat the bestestest chilli ever, have a shower, go to Leeds Ruby Thing then relocate to The Chemic to watch The Gillroyd Parade. #
- struggled to wake up this morning and is greeted by emails that kinda make her wish she hadn’t. #
- planned to feed @thattommyhall a delicious farewell lunch. Hangovers mean no one feels like it. Biscuits and coffee will have to suffice. #
- notices the jerk seasoning marinading on the chicken smells a little like Branston pickle. Hope I didn’t use the wrong jar… #
- has been helping @thattommyhall move out pre-india. took 4 loads of stuff to the charity shop & kept a load ourselves, inc 27! cans of beans #
- is tired and covered in cats. #
- is sat in perfect formation on the sofa: cat (carbon), me, cat (boron), @johnleach, cat (carla). #
- @IdleSi Valentine’s Day evening. We always go then – it’s deserted. Still doesn’t really make it bearable though. in reply to IdleSi #
- has spent the day thinking a lot about new houses and old houses. #
- is very very, very very very, tempted to scream. #
- has spent the whole morning chasing bits of paper, working her way through frustrating phone systems and dealing with inept people. joy. #
- doesn’t think she can adequately express her frustration at Royal Mail in 140 characters. #
- doesn’t think she can adequately express her frustration at Leeds City Council in 140 characters. It’s been a frustrating day. #
- can hear @johnleach hovering near the cellar door and wonders if he’s thinking of locking the meter-reader down there. #
- forgot her power supply in the hurry to the office. it’s going to be a dull-screen day, or rather a dull 1hr 50mins. #
- wasted 13mins of her precious 1hr50mins fannying around getting an external screen working for no benefit. also wasted time twittering. bah. #
- kisses her power cable – oh! how I’ve missed you, electricity. #
- just got her rock on. #
- visited new parts of the supermarket today, places she’s never been before and never wants to go again – ie, the baby aisle. *shudder* ;) #
- got confused by a reflection. #
- loves the train ride from leeds to bingley – so very green and glorious in the sunshine. #
- is full of pizza again. we should probably change the company name to brightpizzabox. #
- had a meeting with the solicitor re: our new house. things are progressing but still slowly and still in a wtf manner. #
- @Threebt re fivers: I used to get them from a machine at uni in Liverpool, my friend at the uni in Hull. gets it’s a near-students thing. :) in reply to Threebt #
- is so very tired. has a dreaming cat on her foot. #

- also dislikes cats stomping on keyboards and accidentally tweeting. #
- had lunch too early – feeling peckish but it’s FOUR HOURS until we’re going to dos amigos. might have to have a giant snack in the meantime. #

- has had a great end to a bad week – lots of fun stuff happening at @brightbox and @threebt called me a “re-useable goddess” on her #ff. ;) #
- had another lovely meal at dos amigos, this time with @johnleach, katherine&john, and dan. tapas and smutty humour, mmmm. #
- should very possibly have gone to bed about an hour ago. #
- remembers why she shouldn’t re-read TC Boyle’s Drop City – I so feel bereft when it ends, the rebound book always suffers in comparison. #
- only achieved this yesterday: http://www.twitpic.com/ezc88. the eagled eyed will notice it’s only 1 side so far & that i have very ugly pjs. #
- must be doing something wrong monetising one of her sites – can’t believe it’s not worth more than $0.08CPM… more experimentation i guess. #
- thought today started off really well but it’s been downhill since then. Frustration piled upon frustration. #
- returns from a superb meal at Dos Amigos with Katherine. Stuffed now though. #
- thinks Boron has missed her for the 2 hours she’s been out because he’s all about the love now and is purring loudly. :) #
- feels oniony even though she only ate the tiniest bit of (admittedly raw) onion at lunch. also feel like i could use a good long stretch. #
- would like a snooze now. #
- finally has a mortgage offer letter in her hands. Whoop whoop. #
- has annoying ear wobbles again – thought I’d got rid of them for this year. Boo. (still though *does the offer letter dance*) #
- had another full day at the office – looking forward to working from home tomorrow. #
- wonders whether it’s her screen that’s dull today or a problem with her eyes. #
- thinks she’s done for the week. keep trying to work but my head & my ear object. an evening of crochet tonight; off to Nottingham tomorrow. #
- lets the cats in – they’ve been misted by the drizzle and glisten in the light. We all smoosh faces to share the sogginess. #
- now has a hula hoop. #
- @xbaz we were in the city centre and wollaton – had tapas and milkshakes in the city centre, then kebabs when we arrived back in leeds :) in reply to xbaz #
- spent some time yesterday afternoon in a milkshake shop in nottingham listening to tina turner’s private dancer. it was a special moment. #
- has had a lazy day up to now, reading books about chickens. Now time for laundry, cleaning out the kitchen & lasagne with @thattommyhall. #
- is firm but fair while consigning books to the charity shop. But space on the bookshelves is instantly filled with piled elsewhere to-keeps. #
- wishes she was at home in bed with a cat or three. #
- has been bought a lovely fountain pen by @johnleach. I got some pretty ink and a converter too so no more throwaway biros for me, woo. #
- was late to the office because we were watching videos of a slow loris on youtube. @strowger78 had a can of grape soda waiting for me – ace! #
- has been visiting the 3M website a lot recently – strange how I went a decade without visiting it once and now 3 unconnected times in a day #
- has some crazy ideas that just. might. work. #
- has been working on a new mini-feature for @recycle_this this afternoon – fun! #

- will spend this evening blogging, frogging and … making scones. #
- spent longer than intended baking but has a lovely full wire cooling tray now. made treacle & cinnamon cookies as well as scones. yummo. #
- just had homemade scone with homemade butter. sadly had to use shop bought jam – still yum though :) #
- thinks it’s time to funnel meat down the throats of cats then retire for the evening. #
- can see 5 tiny birds flying in an out of the big bush in our garden & can hear that one very happy (but fat & lazy) cat is watching them too #
- turns out cat wasn’t too fat or lazy. doh. #
- @IdleSi I’ve used Inkscape since 2006. I’ve not used Illustrator so I can’t compare but I like Inkscape a lot: lots of great features :) in reply to IdleSi #
- wonders if there are a lot of wasps around today or if it’s just the same really dumb one again and again. #
- is struggling to write some copy. Drinking water whenever I get stuck. Worried I might get water intoxication. #
- finally got to go inside BaaRamEwe – been pining at the window for weeks, always turning up when it’s closed. I’ll be a’felting tomorrow :) #

- has had a day of spicy delights: had an ace kebab at the (smaller than we thought it would be) mela then dawdled over to bradford to omar’s. #
