1. A frantic wrestle ends when Tilda gently taps Strange with her front paws then bounces away.

2. John takes Lily to say goodbye to her beloved Auntie Iris (who is moving back to Hong Kong). The house is painfully quiet without its two noisiest members.

2b. I ply the rest of the yarn together and after winding it into a skein, proudly record its details in my notebook. A 70:30 wool/silk mix spun to cobweb then plied to about laceweight. I have about 300 yards in that skein – just about enough for a small, lacey scarf.

3. As my fingers hover over the keys, it occurs to me that I’m not exactly sure what it is that I don’t like about the book. I struggle and tease my thoughts until they untangle and I know what I want to say.
